We recorded this video on the Sunday class following Alem Dechasa's death in Beirut. The class that day was dedicated to discussing Alem, and the thoughts, feelings and reactions our students felt towards her treatment and ultimately death. Following the discussions and messages written by our students we also edited and finalized this video.
I'm proud of Rahel Zegeye, who I interviewed for an AllAfrica story, for taking action and speaking out against the inhumane treatment of Ethiopian and other foreign migrant workers in Lebanon. She has transformed from being a victim of maltreatment to an activist for change. Watch her address the issues in this video.
